Scripture promises in Proverbs 2 that if we live a life filled with honesty and integrity and above all faithfulness to the Lord, then we are able to discern lies, deceit, injustice, and hardened hearts in others– we become wise. 

Those matters listed above are easy to discern because we know what it looks like and feels like to live a life that exemplifies how God has called us to live, which - like scripture states - gives us the wisdom to understand what is right, and just.

Choosing wisely about the people you allow in your life, the laws that should pass in your city or nation, and all the other choices that surround you begins by living a life of honesty and integrity and, above all, devotion to Jesus.

Proverbs 2:3-10:

He grants a treasure of common sense to the honest.

He is a shield to those who walk in integrity.

He guards the paths of the just and protects those who are faithful to him.

Then you will understand what is right, just, and fair, and you will find the right way to go. For wisdom will enter your heart, and knowledge will fill you with joy. 

Wise choices will watch over you.

Understanding will keep you safe.
